Baby Shower the Celebration of Life

Baby shower is a unique experience for the new expectant parents. With such fun things as baby shower games and unique baby shower invitations you are going to have a fun day with all the baby shower ideas that you are about to discover.

Choosing the menu for the baby shower is one of the most exciting things to do! There are so many options out there for you to choose from depending on your budget. If you are having the event in a restaurant, you will need to work on the menu with one of their staff. It is up to you if you planned a meal or appetizers, and the restaurant staff may be able to provide food to match your theme. If you are hosting the shower in a home, you could choose a caterer; make your own food or a combination of both.

If you are planning to serve an assortment of finger food, decorate a side table reflecting the theme. Place the desserts in the centre surrounded by the finger foods for a beautiful presentation. Planning an assortment of finger foods lets all the guests to enjoy the snacks at their leisure.

The assortment of food and its presentation shows how much time and thought you have put into this day of celebration. Often finger foods are provided for the guests as a more informal gathering. Serve cubes of fresh fruit on a platter or skewers, chop vegetables into two-bite pieces and serve with ranch dip or create a dip of you own, finger sandwiches are a popular item, add traditional fillings such as egg and cucumber or go for something totally different, there are many online suggestions to add your personal touch to this traditional treat. A variety of cheese and crackers, chips and dips and shrimp and cocktail sauces are always a party hit.

For guests arriving for an evening get together, buffet meals are wonderful way for guest to serve themselves and allow the hostess time to mingle. In addition to the finger food suggestions, add some savory snacks such as chicken wings, stuffed mushroom caps, meatballs and mini pizzas to complete the meal.

Coffee, tea, punch and soda pop are all great baby shower beverages. You may also choose to serve wine and other alcoholic beverages. Make sure to have plenty of milk, cream and sugar for the coffee and tea. A nice added touch is to include an assortment of flavoured tea bags as well as choice of regular and diet soft drinks. Serve fruit punch, raspberry lemonade or mint julep for a change of fair. There are many different punch recipes to serve, pick your favourite or check online for some interesting additions to a traditional drink!

Desserts can be an assortment of cookies and squares along with the cake, the customary dessert of choice. This is a perfect time to establish your theme. If you are ordering a custom cake, make sure to do so approximately 2-3 weeks before the shower. You can also use the cake as a beautiful centre piece for your food table.

No matter what type of food you serve, make sure there is enough food to last the duration of the party as well as something for everyone.

When guests enter the location of the baby shower, the decorations should immediately put them in the baby celebration spirit. If you have guests arriving that don't know each other, name tags should be given to everyone. These can be hand printed or made on your computer.

Decorating is all about colour! The chosen theme will supply the colours of the decorations. Add balloons, flowers and linens in your chosen colour scheme for a complete look. Even if you decided not to go with a theme, the decorations will show your personal touch. For something a little different stray away from the traditional pink and blue and go with greens, yellows and lavender. Streamers add a ton of colour to your party room along with a congratulatory banner for the new mom is a perfect touch.
